Every form on the planet is the result of evolution. This project began with an analysis of the principles underlying the structure of cicada wings before translating them into algorithms. These algorithms then aid in the replication of a natural process that would have occurred over millions of years in order to create ideal forms based on morphogenesis and math. By varying the inputs, the algorithm generates an endless number of chair designs that can be used for a variety of purposes and fit a variety of spaces. Credits: Dmitry Belkin, Nikita Shipov

The chair seamlessly integrates into minimalist interiors, adding dynamism with its texture and high contrast.
One of the production options I considered was metal casting followed by galvanization in various colors.
The process of generating and selecting models for the structure was one of the most fascinating stages of the development.
The generative approach allows using a single model for different types of chairs. For example, it's easy to change the height, tilt, and other parameters of the chair's back and armrests.
Rough and random versions were sometimes just as expressive as the final result.
We employed mathematical models to simulate the processes of natural evolution and morphogenesis.
